The Big Change Update

Things are going well at the school. Blake is getting adjusted to his new schedule and loves the teaching. I think he missed some of the one on one with students but i think that the longer he teaches the more he will get that one on one time. Basketball starts Oct.17...Yikes! It will be interesting to see how life changes when that starts. We are having some fun in the gym right now when we get to go up and just play, we are a family of gym rats. I will add that Blake does like having access to a gym whenever...that is a dream come true.
The girls and i usually go to the school on fridays and play kickball with Blake's p.e. class, which is a blast. Then often Blake and i get to play volleyball with the varsity team and i love that! It is a fun way to get to know some of the students.
It is a little strange at church. We are trying to figure out where to go and how to fit in now. I have felt awkward and out of place since we have changed jobs. I think that i am starting to get the hang of things now. I am still leading a youth small group, but now we have to go to a big people Sunday school (which we haven't done in 10 years!!!) Sometimes i feel like one of the new 7th graders entering the youth group! Except now I am 36 and am supposed to know how to do this!! Lets just say i am learning all over again!

Virginia's Run

This is our first family run and we had fun! It was a 1 mile fun run and we did that. The girls were already to go. Hopefully next time we can  run a little further.
The girls headed up to the start.

Our family picture

The big girls ran and we pushed Lil

It was a great run. They had Chick-fil-a biscuits for runners, face painting, cotton candy, and live music.

Emma Kate chose a shark

Field Day For Emma Kate

Field day was soo fun. This was our first time to participate in field day. So the first thru the sixth grade are all put on teams that have a few students from each grade. The sixth grader are given leadership roles on the teams, kind of lie the team captains. It was soo fun they competed in twelve games.
Excited getting ready to compete in her first game.

Football Toss and she made three for three!!
Notice her hair, they got to spray their hair their team color. Emma Kate loved that!
Then on to the 50 meter dash.

It was neck and neck...
But she just got beat out at the last minute.
Emma Kate loved the whole day...can you tell?
Her sweet sister had to run over and give her a quick hug.
Lilly totally chillin watching all the games
Maddie intently watching all the games.
The sack race. Look at that red hair
Her hair looks like flames... she is smokin hot.
On o the tug-of-war
We won this game. Her team only lost three games.
Now the obstacle course...this was fun

Belly crawl, but really on her belly
But she did scramble her way through pretty quickly

Now through the tires and to the finish.
The Long Jump
The three legged race. She and her partner did awesome!!
Emma Kate waiting to find out the results. There was a three way tie and EKS team was one of the teams. So all three teams had to compete in a relay race to determine the winner.
And their off...

EKS was working hard

She did a good job. And their team finished....
2nd place. I would say that was a good day!

I am Still Here...Believe it or not!!

Ok so i have decided that there is no way to catch you guys up on all the happenings from this summer...all the things that i have not posted. Hopefully i will be able to post things as time goes by, but don't hold your breathe!!!

S biggest news in our house is that Maddie lost her first tooth!!! She was soo excited when she could wiggle it...then it was hanging on by a thread!! Then yesterday she and Lilly were wrestling and then she came to tell me something and I noticed that her smiled was different. I asked her to smile at me and saw that her tooth was gone. She didn't even know it though!! So then we had to stop everything and find the tooth! Thankfully Maddie found it on the couch, that was close.
So then Emma Kate of course has to fill her sister in on standard procedure for the tooth fairy. Well Maddie could not sleep and had many questions about the tooth fairy...she was not excited let me tell you. She was very worried. She did not want the tooth fairy to come into her room...she didn't want her to come in the house! We tried to tell her that we would talk to the tooth fairy, she didn't want her in the house. So after trying to convince her we finally had to tell her there was no tooth fairy. She got a big grin on her face. It was so cute! We did tell her not to tell her sister. It is funny how different kids are, Emma Kate was excited about the tooth fairy and had a hard time going to sleep. Maddie also had a hard time going to sleep but the reason was totally different, she was scared!
