Let The Christmas Activities Begin!!

Blake's mom is here for thanksgiving and we started getting in the Christmas spirit. She brought some sugar cookies that she and the girls baked and then we all decorated.
Look at poor Lil just watching..."Hey anybody see me...Who wants to let me help?"

My creative child taking her time, putting lots of thought into her decoration.

Notice the look of concentration. She is working hard.

"Please won't someone give me something...anything...one little thing? I can decorate cookies too!"
"YEAH!!! Grandma gave me a bit of frosting!!!! I am happy now"

All About the Cast

So we go in the day before thanksgiving, hoping to get Emma Kate's cast off. The girls waiting for Emma Kate's cast to be cut off. Maddie was dying to go and see how they were going to take the cast off.

Then the guy comes in to cut the cast off. Emma Kate was a little anxious, but did awesome.

Then they took her out to get an x-ray of her leg and this is what Maddie and I did while we were waiting. We took pictures of each other!

Then we found out we would need another cast!! The doctor said we had the right treatment, but the wrong diagnosis. The fracture was in the bottom of her ankle not in her growth plate. So we are back in a cast for three more weeks. This time Emma Kate picked blue instead of purple. She picked blue because her dad had a blue cast and for Auburn. WAR EAGLE!!!  I was in such shock that i forgot to get a picture of them recasting her, i just knew that we were going to be free. I even had my blog title FREEDOM!!! I guess not...maybe next time.

The Planets Must Be Aligned!!

You have to see this to believe it!! This RARELY happens , but once in a blue moon my girls will be really quiet during quiet time. Once in a while too quiet, as they were today, in which case i go to check on them and this is what i find

I told you you would have to see it to believe it. I have no idea what causes this phenomenon, but it sure is nice

A Funny Picture From Our House

This is a common picture as of late. The big girls will play games on the computer and Lilly will get the blue stool from where ever it is in the house and put it by the computer so that she can see what is going on. She just wants to be apart!!! Sometimes she will try to play the computer by herself, she will even wiggle the mouse and when the computer comes on she looks around to she if she is caught.

The Countdown Is ON!!

We only have 5 more days until we get Emma Kate's cast off. Lord willing the x-ray they take that day will look good and we will be free and clear. I think if it doesn't come off soon she will run out of it!! You wouldn't know she had one on just by watching her. She plays just as hard as before, she just has a little hitch in her run. Good thing is it doesn't cause her much grief!!

The Three Piggy Opera

The three piggy opera had to be the cutest thing i have seen!! As you can tell by the name it is a take on the three little pigs with singing...hence the opera part. Emma Kate was a brick peddler. All the children that were not pigs dressed up as animals and EKS was a chicken. She wore a red shirt with blue jeans and bare feet. She had a yellow beak on her nose and a red feather plume on her head. She was soo cute. I hope to get a video up soon, but need help from blake to get that done. I will post pictures soon.

Kids say the funniest things

So first, today Maddie, Lilly, and I picked up Emma Kate from school...she gets in the car, gets settled, gets her seat belt on and Maddie asks her in a very calm, motherly voice.." So, how was school today?" What a funny girl.

Then tonight Emma Kate wanted to pray before we ate supper. So she started " Thank you for a great day, thank you for our food, thank you for my great school...please don't let there be a fire, please let it just be practice. Please don't let my school fire, please let it practice." So she gets done and I ask her about "practice" and what that meant...she has had a fire drill at school, AKA practice. HILARIOUS!!!  She was so sincere, she was wanting the Lord to protect her school.

FIRST DAY OF KINDERGATEN!!!

Our Kindergartner...WOW
My sweet girls

Daddy with his sweet girl

Lining up with her class at the front of the church

Heading out with her class

Off she goes...i can't believe it!

My wonderful family on a very special day
Sorry i am working backwards, but this is what happens when you just start blogging...i have to catch up!I can't believe the first day has come and gone already!! Time really does fly. We all got to go to school to see EKS off on her first day of school, it was a really great and exciting day.

This is our first kindergarten field trip

Me with my sweet girl
The zoo!! What a great first felid trip and of course i had to go.
These are the five girls that are in EKS class. There are only 10 kids total. I love that!
This is her class and i think i picked the silly picture. They all look like they are making crazy faces. I think they are having some fun.

This is our sweet teacher Mrs. Stokes. Emma Kate loves her.
And here is our dare devil child...no wonder we ended up in a cast!! I told you she was like her dad!

I am finally a blogger!!!

So i finally decided to start blogging, basically because i am feeling bad that our families are missing the everyday things. So this is my atempt to keep them up to date.

Emma Kate broke her leg about a week and a half ago...you would never know it though. She is everywhere all the time...trying to climb rock walls, trying to run and jump. I think that she kind of likes the cast, she got her whole class to sign it and all the youth.

As you can see she is holding up well!!!
Sorry i haven't figured out how to make the picture turn the right way yet, i am still a rookie so give me some time.
Here is her beautiful purple cast with those pretty silver signatures.
And as you can see one of our smart youth guys signed her toes!! I guess that is what you get with youth sometimes. She will get her cast off the day before Thanksgiving and we will see after that. Hopefully we will be all done for now. I have a feeling though that she will follow in her father's footsteps and this will be the first cast of many to come.
